Alfresco Releases Latest Records Management Module and Alfresco One Platform

alfresco-logoRegulatory, legal and organizational requirements to manage and retain information are more stringent than ever, yet organizations continue to struggle to control documents. In order to address records management (RM) requirements in a way that works for users and records managers, Alfresco announced the release of its latest Records Management module (v2.1), along with the next version of Alfresco One (v4.2).

In an October, 2012 survey by Forrester Research, Inc. 40 percent of technology and strategy decision-makers admitted that using RM technology to improve compliance remains a pressing issue. To address this concern Alfresco One 4.2 seamlessly integrates records management into organization’s existing content lifecycles, making sure information remains accurately compliant and automatically protected.

“End user adoption of RM applications remains a significant challenge,” wrote Cheryl McKinnon, Principal Analyst at Forrester Research. “Few established vendors have innovated in areas such as user experience. Records managers are frustrated by their end users’ adoption and use of RM systems.”
