OK, I'll be part of the crowd.

"Crowdsourcing" is a buzzword for getting information from individuals who care enough about a topic to chime in regardless of the quality or accuracy of what they provide.

It sometimes leads to "curating," another buzzword that often means "presenting information freely provided by crowdsources so the curator doesn't have to create original content."

Looking forward to Parts 2 and 3...

Thanks Tony for a good summary article looking at crowd sourcing. While it's popular now as a term and has a new name, it seems very similar to old ideas of gathering information from many places before making a decision.

And no, I have no idea why the iPhone capitalizes it.

Number One is definitely The Bob Newhart Show. But the second one that comes to my mind is missing from your list: Early Edition. Airing for a few years in the late '90s, it's about a guy who gets the next day's edition of the Tribune on his doorstep each morning -- and then tries to undo the disasters and calamaties he finds reported therein. The Chicago setting is a big part of the show.

My three picks were "style guide," which I use for institution-specific issues; "My high school English teacher(s)," whose lessons have served me well; and "Something else": experience.
