STC Summit 2012Pinterest
We try to put a worthy final touch on the STC Summit 2012 with notes and commentary from Sarah Maddox (ffeathers.wordpress.com),  Ellis Pratt (cherryleaf.com) and  Val Swisher (contentrules.com). It’s the next best thing to being there yourself.

Moving on to the rest of tech comm, Gurpreet Singh (technicalwritingtoolbox.com) talks about 10 LinkedIn groups that technical writers should join. We’re relisting the Summit-related post from Tom Johnson (idratherbewriting.com) who wonders what to do when wikis don’t always work. Read his thoughtful post and take the time to read all the comments–we promise there’s a wealth of information and ideas in theer.
The Content Strategy arena is covering some philosophical territory this week:  why content and writing matter to big players such as Coca Cola, an eternal debate on who is more valuable, authors or curators, and what to do when it’s time to think redesign.
We wrap up this week with advice for job hunters on optimizing your resume for catching an employer’s eye, and the best font to use on your resume so no one has to squint to read it.

We hope our US friends enjoyed the short work week (after the long Memorial Day weekend). Let the summer begin!
