Thank you to everyone who submitted stories. Submissions are closed for this year but please start thinking about your scary story for 2012.
TechWhirl beckons you to share your technical writer horror stories with us. Show your evil and literary genius and celebrate All Hallows Eve with TechWhirl for the entire week of October 24-28, 2011. We will then read the best of the best on our next Inside TechWhirl Podcast Radio Theatre committing them to
i-Tunes immortality. Our next broadcast set to be posted on Halloween.
Those outside this coven of bewitched communicators can know little of our power over demented project managers, our battles with the sorcery of mad programmers, or soul-sapping duels with devious SMEs or our ghoulish encounters with technology. So, now is your chance to reveal your true nature and triumph over evil… or maybe just a little boredom.
While the truth is often far more scary than what happens in our imagination, fictional stories of a frightening, freaky and (especially) funny nature are requested. …Well OK, if you want to relate a real-life horror that is good too, but please change all the names to protect both the innocent and the guilty. We’re taking a chance here by not enforcing a word limit, but we reserve the right to not publish that novel you’ve been working on for the last 13 years. Unless, of course it’s really good.
Click here to submit your work of art in .doc or .docx format (yes, we will accept well-written rants about the poltergeistian nature of word processors if you’ve a mind to or the evils of single vs. double spaces after a period). You can also include a photo (costume optional) and a brief bio for your author page. Then make sure you lock the door to your … cubicle, and keep the garlic and silver bullets handy as you frighten yourself into early retirement with Technical Writer Halloween Horror Stories
