TransPerfect Merges with Vasont Systems

Vasont-newlogoTransPerfect, the world’s largest privately held provider of global language services and related technologies, today announced a merger agreement with Vasont Systems, an industry leader in component content management system (CCMS) software and XML data services.

The combined organization will be able to offer a complete solution for global content authoring and publishing, drawing upon Vasont Systems’ sophisticated technologies and TransPerfect’s best-in-class language services, GlobalLink globalization management software supporting over 170 languages, and existing foothold in the component content management space through its Astoria Software division. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Pennsylvania-based Vasont Systems will join the TransPerfect family of companies. President and CEO Richard Schiding will continue to lead the Vasont Systems division of TransPerfect as division President.

“Vasont Systems has an impressive record of delivering innovative, technologically advanced solutions to their clients, and it was clear to us that they value and deliver the same high level of client service that we do,” commented TransPerfect President and Co-CEO Liz Elting. “Their software fits nicely with our GlobalLink technology suite, and the integrated solution we’re now able to offer is something that will benefit our clients. We’re delighted to have them join the TransPerfect team.”

“Our primary goal in this merger was to align with a company that allowed us to offer our clients a more robust suite of software and services to help with their creation and management of global content,” said Vasont Systems President and CEO Richard Schiding. “Integrating our technology with the GlobalLink suite and plugging in to TransPerfect’s vast pool of resources and service offerings creates a new world of possibilities for our clients, both current and future.”
