Alfresco Mobile 1.4 boasts task management, note taking, and file synching
Alfresco recently unveiled a new version of its Alfresco Mobile content management application for the Apple iOS platform, with features including task management, note taking, and file synching that are designed to increase efficiency for users.
Alfresco Mobile 1.4 leverages workflow capabilities of the company’s enterprise and cloud solutions to provide new functionality:
- Task Management: Simple task management allows users to start, complete, or reassign tasks, such as reviewing and approving documents.
- Note Taking: Users can create or edit text files with notes, tag them, and save them to Alfresco Enterprise or Alfresco in the cloud without disconnecting the notes from the rest of the company’s enterprise content.
- File Synching: Allows users to save files by marking them ‘favorites’ in Alfresco in the cloud, Alfresco Enterprise, or Alfresco Mobile, automatically syncing them to the mobile device of choice.
These new features extend the mobile document management and capture functionality of Alfresco mobile. In addition, Alfresco mobile for iOS supports five languages: English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
“We live in a three-screen world where PCs, tablets, and smartphones all play a critical role in knowledge worker productivity,” said John Powell, CEO of Alfresco. “Combined with Alfresco in the cloud or Alfresco on-premise, our goal is to enable users to get work done on all of their devices with features that leverage both the unique features of each device and the enterprise capability of the Alfresco platform.”
Alfresco Mobile 1.4 is now available in the Apple App Store with 10GB of free cloud file storage included. Alfresco’s first mobile app for Android was scheduled to be available in the Google Play store in November. Meanwhile, Alfresco offers software development kits (SDKs) for both iOS and Android.
