The Customer Experience Recognition Awards, or CERAs, will debut at a reception and dinner on October 23, 2014, in conjunction with the Information Development World (iDW) conference. Produced by Scott Abel of The Content Wrangler and Val Swisher of Content Rules on October 22-24, 2014 in San Jose, CA, iDW is the first conference dedicated to helping organizations create exceptional customer experiences centered around content. TechWhirl is partnering with iDW to organize and host the awards event, which is sponsored by SDL.
The CERAs will celebrate exceptional customer experience content, and those that produce it, by recognizing content-driven projects in six award categories:
- Accessibility (Expanding Access)
- Customer Support – Technical Communications (Post Purchase)
- Employee Engagement (Internal Initiatives)
- Information Discovery (Sales Process)
- User Community/Social Media (Marketing/Brand)
- Translation / Localization (Expanding Access)
“Information Development World brings together experts and thought leaders with content professionals to share and learn about meeting the challenges of developing content for the customer experience,” said Scott Abel, conference co-producer. “The CERAs are a perfect way to tie this conference knowledge together with exceptional real-world examples that show what can be done.”
Submissions from information / content developers, agencies, project leads, or managers, are now being accepted online, and the deadline for submission is 5:00 pm EDT on September 19, 2014. To be eligible for a CERA, the nominated project must demonstrate how content is integral to exceptional customer experience, and show collaborative effort between design, content development, and experience delivery to achieve business objectives. Information about submission requirements, events, judges, and ticket purchase can be found at TechWhirl, including Submission Rules & Awards Criteria and a Submission Form.
“TechWhirl is excited to be a part of the CERA event at iDW,” said Al Martine, partner and director of operations for TechWhirl. “Working with Scott and Val to create a celebration of content is a tremendous opportunity for us.We’re collecting submissions, selecting judges, and delivering the awards at the ceremony, and are looking forward to seeing the best of the best in content-driven customer experience.”
The CERA event will take place at the conference hotel, the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, CA, on Thursday, 23, 2014, beginning with a reception at 6 pm, and followed by dinner at 7:30 pm, and the program at 8:15 pm. Tickets are $75 per person, and can be purchased when registering for the iDW conference.
