Munich, November 3, 2015 – Appsoft Technologies, maker of Xeditor, presents its new software release at the tcworld conference 2015. Xeditor allows authors to easily create structured documents in XML data format, providing media-neutral data storage. The new version of Xeditor further optimizes its XML-based standard solution to better support individualization, user-friendliness and offline editing.
The new Xeditor release features user interface enhancements, particularly to the control elements, which better address user needs. Overall, the interface better supports typical user behavior, allowing users to execute more frequently used commands with fewer steps. For example, authors can make faster inline editing changes via the keypad, and can create shortcuts to for the elements they use most often in technical documentation, such as warnings, notes and code blocks.
Editing functionality has been upgraded as well, with a context-dependent search tag, that allows users to search for available elements according to the current cursor position. Xeditor also includes improved configuration and administration, so that organizations can easily create individual user profiles that control access to various features and functionality, and formatting options for every user.
Authors can take advantage of the new integrated WIRIS formula editor to edit, perform statistical analyses, and insert formulas into the document. With the new offline editing feature, users can save documents without an Internet connection, and synchronize them with the server once the online connection is restored.
Xeditor supports the new version of the production and integration of warnings according to Ansi Z535.6.
With Xeditor, authors can create structured documents without specialized technical knowledge. The editor’s WYSIWYG interface is similar to Microsoft Word. Other features include integration of 3D graphics, QR codes or other graphics, and simplified management of table and list elements. Xeditor easily integrates with other systems such as CMS and PIM systems, and it supports DITA1.2, DocBook S1000D, PI-Mod and other technical standards. Xeditor can be adapted to specific target groups and used regardless of industry sector and supports customer-specific schemas.
