PKWARE Launches SecureZIP Reader for iOS®

PKWARE, Inc., producer of data-centric security products, announced availability of SecureZIP Reader for iOS®, an application that  allows corporate end-users to securely access data from the Cloud on mobile devices.

SecureZIP Reader extends the PKWARE enterprise security solution to phones and tablets.  The SecureZIP Solution secures corporate information that end-users send to the Cloud via file-sharing applications, such as DropBox®, Box.net® or email, to access on their mobile devices.  Features of the application include:

  • Open zip files, included strongly encrypted files
  • Access zip files maintained in the Archive List
  • Preview the contents of files
  • Use ‘Open In’ to view files in an associated app
  • View file and/or archive details

“With the ‘consumerization of IT’, Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) are struggling to secure data sent through the Cloud to phones and tablets.  We are very pleased that SecureZIP Reader is now available on the iPad® and iPhone®.  No longer does someone have to send data ‘in the clear’ to a mobile device,” said V. Miller Newton, Chief Executive Officer for PKWARE.  “The SecureZIP Solution now solves the security problem that Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) and the Cloud have created.”

SecureZIP Reader is a free application for iOS® devices and is available in the Apple® iTunes® store. SecureZIP Reader for Android™ and Kindle Fire® will be available in the second quarter of 2012.
