The Scribus Team announced release of version 1.4 of its Open Source Desktop Publishing application. The stable release has been under development for four years, and includes a wide range of enhancements to its professional layout and publishing functionality including cross-platform compatibility, advanced typography management, object handling, enhanced help documentation, numerous templates, and support for scientific publications and formulae.
