The Philadephia Metro chapter of the Society for Technical Communication has announced that the call for proposals for the 2014 Mid-Atlantic Technical Communication Conference is now open. The conference is schedule will be held on Saturday, March 22 at the Giant Conference Center in Willow Grove, PA.
The annual event attracts a wide array of presenters and attendees from the tri-state region (PA/NJ/DE), as well as other metro areas, including New York City, Washington DC, and Boston. The day is typically organized into three or four tracks with a total of nine or more presentations. Sessions are approximately 50 minutes, and are conducted in a classroom setting.
Presenting at the conference provides technical communication professionals with an opportunity to share yotheir expertise and hone their public speaking skills in front of a diverse group of writers, trainers, and other tech comm professionals. Conference organizers also note that the regional event serves as great preparation presentation at other regional and national STC events, such as the 2014 STC Summit conference to be held in Phoenix.
The deadline for proposal submissions is Friday, December 13. Proposals can be submitted online at the conference website: http://www.stcpmc.org/conference/submit-your-proposal/.
