Tech Writer This Week looks at some good, and not-so-good stuff that you might want to ponder, or at least be aware of from around the web. Lisa Hoover (mindtouch.com) lists the top 100 influencers for #techcomm in 2013. But Miriam Lottner (tech-tav.com) isn’t very happy with that list and figures out why she didn’t make the cut. And Sarah O’Keefe (scriptorium.com) says when your workflow is a series of workarounds dealing with bad data, it might be time to think things over.

User Experience offers 42 resources for testing form usability from UserTesting.com. Abhishek Singh (dazeinfo.com) wonders how Facebook Home could enhance user experience. And Ryan Singer (feltpresence.com) says UX means too many things to too many people.

In Content Strategy, Michael Brito (contentmarketinginstitute.com) shares three considerations for upgrading your own content strategy. If you have a developed a strategy, but need to sell it to management, Hilary Marsh (HilaryMarsh.com) has posted a slideshow on SocialFish.org outlining what content strategy is all about. And Christina Walker (business2community.com) describes content creation, content curation, and how to find the right combination of the two.

This week in Career and Life, Scott Nesbitt (scottnesbitt.net) talks about word count and how to write concisely. Jennifer Dunn (allfreelancewriting.com) offers four tools for freelancers that you may not be aware of. And Shanna Mallon (prdaily.com) posts a dozen online resources for writers. I already use Google Alerts, but I’m going to check out Textalyser and the Pomodoro technique.
