Meet Us in Memphis @WritersUA Contest is only open those aged 18 years or over. Employees and the relatives of sponsors of either INKtopia Limited (owners of TechWhirl.Com) or the WritersUA are not eligible. Entries must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that no element of their entry infringes the copyright of any third party or any laws.
Entries will be judged as to which are the most original, interesting and entertaining. The judging panel will be comprised of representatives of INKtopia Limited. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence shall be entered into pertaining to the final decision.
The value of the prize is $1395 (the price of standard registration at the WritersUA Conference for Software User Assistance). The prize cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash. All intellectual property will become the property of INKtopia Limited. In participating in the prize, the winners agree to participate and co-operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the promotion, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. The winners grant the Promoter a perpetual and non-exclusive license to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winners will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
INKtopia Limited or the organizers of the WritersUA Conference for Software User Assistance (Promoter) shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize(s) except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. Neither is the Promoter responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the entrant or any of the equipment or programming associated with, or utilized in this competition, or for any technical error, or combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition, including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries.
The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardize the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
