Connie and I didn’t get involved with TechWhirl for awards; we bought it because we wanted fame and fortune.
Or, we thought it was a neat opportunity to work together and build a group of online resources for technical communicators and so we could be in the heart of the one space after a period or two debates. Regardless, the last thing we ever contemplated were any awards but we certainly appreciate them if they come our way like they did yesterday from the folks at MindTouch when they named us as one of the Top 10 Most Emergent sites for 2011. What a great group of people to be named beside – we’re truly honored and appreciative.
This is a great time to thank our writers and the companies sponsoring our site. We couldn’t be emerging; heck we’d still be struggling to put out an article per week. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Uh, thanks.
As for 2012 – fame and fortune can wait, there’s too much happening in technical communications to worry about that stuff.
