OpenText™ announced general availability of OpenText Tempo, and also launched Tempo Express Edition, which lets companies quickly set up a private solution for sharing and syncing content in the cloud. Both editions offer consumer-oriented document sharing cloud services combined with records management and security.
“Secure publishing, sharing and syncing information across multiple devices is clearly resonating with users, hence the emergence of cloud-based services on the consumer side. For enterprises, however, the consumer cloud is just another way for information to get lost or into the wrong hands,” said Eugene Roman, Chief Technology Officer of OpenText. “Tempo combines consumer-level usability with enterprise-level reliability and security. It will fundamentally change the tempo of how information is used, shared and stored by enterprise users.”
Both OpenText Tempo and Tempo Express Edition allow organizations to maintain control over their content while enabling an easy and familiar document sharing user experience. Both platforms store content behind the corporate firewall with a full audit trail, versioning and permission control. OpenText Tempo Content Server Edition supports file sharing for organizations currently using the full OpenText ECM Suite, and can work in conjunction with existing content applications and user interfaces.
OpenText Tempo Express Edition provides a “self-contained” Tempo environment that can be used as a standalone repository, or in conjunction with other existing content repositories. OpenText Tempo Express Edition offers companies with an “out-of-the-box” solution for document sharing and records management using an advanced content management feature set.
OpenText Tempo and Tempo Express Edition both support integration with user desktops, synchronization across many devices, and a simple web-based interface for managing file information, setting permissions or document sharing . In addition, OpenText offers a flexible deployment model in which organizations can choose that allows organizations to manage OpenText Tempo on-premises or with a patent-pending, cloud-based hosting hybrid model that allows organizations to keep maintenance services with OpenText
OpenText Tempo was previewed in November 2011 at the OpenText Content World customer event, and the OpenText Tempo Content Server Edition is available now. OpenText Tempo Express Edition will be available later this month. View the full press release or visit the OpenText website.
