WritersUA released the results of its 2012 User Assistance Tools Survey, conducted via Survey Monkey from October 20 to December 7, 2011. This year’s survey tabulates responses from more than 700 technical communicators self-identified as working in the software user assistance field.
The summary of the survey notes “Today, with our very diversified documentation sets, the number of tools we regularly use has become quite sizeable. This survey supplies you with a peer review to assist you in planning your tool acquisitions.” The tools rated include a broad cross-section of publishing, help authoring, graphics management, XML editing, document and content management, and utilities used to produce digital content.
