Even when businesses begin to grasp the value of content management, too often they focus on tactical or business silos needs for content. LavaCon 2013 offers four days of breakout sessions and hands on workshops on content strategy and multichannel digital publishing, and the theme for LavaCon in 2013 is “Adopting a Holistic Approach to Content Strategy.”

The Society for Technical Communication (STC) has issued a Call for Proposals (CfP) in preparation for Technical Communication Summit ’13 in Atlanta, GA. Those interested in presenting at the 60th annual conference, scheduled for May 5-8, 2013, may submit proposals for sessions in any one of ten different formats for any of the nine tracks being offered.
The STC Academic SIG, in cooperation with the Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication (CPTSC), will again host a one-day Partnership Pre-conference on the day before the annual CPTSC conference. Scheduled for Thursday September 27, 2012 at Michigan Tech University, in Houghton Michigan, the pre-conference theme is designed to complement the theme of the annual CPTSC meeting, “Partnerships for Professionalism: Collaboration, Diversity, and Technology in Academia and Industry,” by fostering conversation between educators and practitioners. The SIG is seeking virtual and in-person presentation proposals to complement its scheduled panel discussions.
